PUBLIC LECTURES FOR BRAIN HEALTH – BAW 2021

General Information

Organizers: Mongolian Neuroscience Society, IBRO, DANA Foundation, Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Science

Objective: To raise the public understanding of brain health, we delivered public lectures to the population by organizing a Public Lecture for Brain Health in collaboration with both the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science. We coordinated a series of lectures about the brain, neurological and mental disorders, and their preventive interventions. The Lectures were broadcasted nationwide and disseminated through televisions, radios, newspapers, and public lectures. To actively engage the attention of both the general public and the government, a social media contest in conjunction with the forum launched prior to it.

Public lectures on brain awareness offered special lectures on mental health and brain science for the general population. The official opening of the public lecture, held at the Graduate School of the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences, included the speeches by Dr. Battuvshin Lkhagvasuren, Dean of Graduate School, MNUMS; and Dr. Damdindorj Boldbaatar, Vice President, MNUMS. All lectures were transmitted live on the Mongolian National Broadcasting and social media. On Facebook, public lectures have reached more than 15.8 thousand people and have been watched by 4.1K thousand people.

Social media art contest:  In this session, 17 participants inclduing high school students, college students, and researchers submitted 9 illustrations and 8 videos.

We have been asked to give interviews to numerous TVs, newspapers, and public newspapers including the National Broadcasting Television and Radio, the largest media channel in Mongolia. TV and radio interviews, as well as live broadcasting in social media about Brain Awareness Week and brain science, were successfully held throughout the period.

The remarkable events have been significantly raised the awareness of neuroscience among the population. Please see here the gallery of the event.
