Call for proposals of programs to promote woman neuroscientists

Dear APRC member societies,

APRC has decided to make special efforts to increase the presence of woman neuroscientists in general scientific meetings of individual member societies. Here, I invite concrete proposals from individual APRC member societies. The ways of promotion are left to each society, but the society has to report APRC the program as well as the numbers and proportions of woman plenary lecturers, woman symposium speakers, woman session chairs, and woman participants in the meeting after the meeting is finished. Each society, if its proposal is selected, will receive 500~1,000 USD (depending on the number of successful proposals). Please send your proposals to the APRC Chair by the end of March, 2016. The budget this time covers meetings held from May 1, 2016 to the end of April, 2017. The proposal should include information of the meeting and a description of how to use the assigned budget.

We are proposing to join officially to International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), the union of neuroscience organization including more than 80 national and regional scientific organizations, within 2014. IBRO launches educational programs that reach young neuroscientists in need of support and assistance, in addition to its main goal to promote and support neuroscience training and collaborative research around the world.
